Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday September 9th
Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup. As a reminder, our partners at the Mercer County Improvement Authority who handle our recycling pickup recently announced that No.5 plastics can now been included in our curbside recycling! Board of Health Meeting – Wednesday September 10th (6PM)
The Annual Joint Meeting of Local Boards of Health will be held at Hopewell Borough Hall on Wednesday September 10th at 6:00pm. It will involve presentations on the Community Health Improvement Plan, and also on Healthy Homes and Childhood Lead. All residents are welcome to attend.
September 11th Ceremony – Thursday September 11th (9AM)
In remembrance of the 24th anniversary of the attacks, a ceremony will be held at Borough hall this year, where representatives of Hopewell Valley Office of Emergency Management will be transferring a piece of the World Trade Center to the Borough for display at town hall. A procession will make its way through the Borough Thursday morning, ending with an outdoor transfer ceremony at approximately 9AM outdoors behind Borough Hall, advance to the rear entrance. Members of the community are welcome to observe and attend the ceremony and are asked to arrive a few minutes before 9:00am, and not to park in the Borough parking lot, which will be closed off for the event. Special thanks to the members of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services community and OEM for preparing the event.
Reminder: Water System Information Forum on Thursday September 11th (7PM)
You are invited to a special town hall meeting on Thursday September 11, 2025 at 7:00 PM (rescheduled from July 31, which was postponed due to the State of Emergency declaration) as part of our ongoing public outreach in advance of the November 4, 2025 public referendum on the proposed sale of our water system. The meeting will be in person at Borough Hall, broadcast via zoom and recorded for those who cannot attend that night.Information on the upcoming water system referendum can be found here.

Mayor’s Office Hours – Saturday September 13 (9AM)
Looking for another way to connect with our town? Generally held every other Wednesday afternoon at 1PM and every second Saturday morning of the month at 9AM, Borough Hall is open for drop in discussions with Mayor Kennedy, no appointments needed.

For Saturday the 13th – please keep an eye out for an updated location outside on West Broad Street in the Borough’s tent for a pop up coffee this month. Exact address to be posted to the website and on the door at Borough Hall Saturday morning once confirmed. This month’s coffee and location will coincide with a ribbon cutting to welcome a new downtown art and information installation in the storefront next to the Hopewell Pharmacy prepared by Downtown Hopewell at 10AM.
Porchfest in Hopewell Borough – Saturday September 13th
Be on the lookout for live music all over Hopewell Borough on Saturday, with venues and bands staged throughout the town starting at noon. More information can be found here.
