In August 2022, Hopwell Borough sent a notice to our water system customers about a contaminant known as Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS) in our water system. All quarterly PFOS monitoring results since July of 2022 have been under the PFOS State Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) and our water system currently meets all State and Federal drinking water standards.

As part of our continuing efforts to keep the public informed about our efforts to monitor and improve our water system for the future, the Water Department has issued another community update that can be downloaded below, detailing the Borough’s work with its consultants and professionals, meeting with NJDEP and the continued compliance with all current State and Federal drinking water standards.
