The Borough public works and water department staff, along with outside contractors, are working on repairing a water main on West Broad Street between Lanning and Ege. We expect service to be restored early this afternoon (Thursday 9/12). Hopewell Township Police are assisting with traffic while a portion of the westbound lane is closed. Once service resumes, customers can expect some brief discoloration and additional air in the water pipes, and may want to delay doing laundry for a short period until the discoloration passes through.
Thank you for your patience during the emergency repair, the Borough’s staff and contractors mobilized overnight and are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Any changes to the schedule or conditions will be updated on the Borough website.
Update 12:29 PM: The leak repair work has been completed and water service restored. Backfilling and paving will occur this afternoon.
