Below is an overview of what’s happening this upcoming week in Hopewell Borough:

Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday May 19th

Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup.

Historic Preservation Commission Meeting – Tuesday May 19th (7:30 PM)

The Hopewell Borough Historic Preservation Commission generally meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm and acts as an advisory body to the Planning Board on development and modifications of structures in the Historic District and the historic district buffer areas. Links to the application forms and a map of the historic district can be found on the Borough website.

Planning Board Meeting – Wednesday May 20th (7PM)

The Hopewell Borough Planning Board will meet on Wednesday May 20th at 7PM in person at the special location of the Hopewell Elementary School cafeteria, with an option to view the meeting via zoom (instructions can be found here. Please note that testimony and comments to the Planning Board must be made in person during a meeting, and due to requirements of the Municipal Land Use Law, cannot be presented by email, letter or virtually) Additional information can be found on the Planning Board page here including documents, plans and reports related to active applications. Please note that the June meeting will be June 10th and is also planned for the Hopewell Elementary School – the sunshine notice for that meeting can be found below as well.

Memorial Day Parade – Sunday May 24 (1PM)

On Sunday, May 24th, the Hopewell Borough Fire Department’s annual Memorial Day Parade will be taking place on Broad Street. Please join us as our community honors and remembers those who have lost their lives in military service defending our County. Please expect detours on Broad Street for the event starting at 1:00 at Taylor Terrance and observe the temporary no parking signs in effect for part of Sunday. Special thanks from the Borough community to our Fire Department for organizing the event and our department of public works team for helping to line Broad Street with flags for the occasion.

Reminder: After Hours Public Works Emergencies Should be Reported to HTPD

If you encounter an emergency situation involving our water or sewer systems or other issues that involve our public works department, please report the issue to the Hopewell Township Police Department dispatch at 609.737.3100. HTPD has direct contact information for our department of public words team, depending on the type of issue.
