Below is an overview of what’s happening in Hopewell Borough this week:
Road Construction and Detour Information For the Week
For the week of August 10th two major road construction projects will continue in the Borough: 1) water main work on West Broad Street by New Jersey American (NJAW) and 2) repaving work by Elizabethtown Gas to restore the roads where they upgraded gas mains last summer. Both projects will involve detours – more information can be found in this week’s traffic alert here.
Borough Council Meeting – Special Date Monday August 10th (7PM)
The August Borough Council meeting for will be Monday August 10th starting at 7PM instead of the usual first Thursday of the month. The meeting will be in person at Borough Hall with a zoom broadcast. Information on how to tune in (and comment) via zoom can be found here. As always, we look forward to getting input from you at the meeting, in person or via zoom. The agenda can be found below, including copies of pending ordinances in resolutions.
Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday August 11th
Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup.
Reminder: After Hours Public Works Emergencies Should be Reported to HTPD
If you encounter an emergency situation involving our sewer system or other issues that involve our public works department, please report the issue to the Hopewell Township Police Department dispatch at 609.737.3100. HTPD has direct contact information for our department of public words team, depending on the type of issue. Emergency issues with drinking water should be reported to New Jersey American Water at 1 (800) 272-1325. Residents are encouraged to sign up for phone and text alerts about water service from NJAW here.
