The upcoming week is a busy one in Hopewell Borough. Below is an overview of what’s happening:
Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday May 6th
Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup. Don’t forget, Mercer County now accepts #5 Plastics in our curbside recycling pickup – more information on what can be put in your bucket can be found here.
Planning Board Meeting – Wednesday May 7th (7PM)
The Hopewell Borough Planning Board will meet on Wednesday May 7th at 7PM in person at Borough Hall, with an option to view the meeting via zoom (instructions can be found here). The agenda can be found below and additional information can be found on the Planning Board page here.
Mayor’s Office Hours – Saturday May 10th (9AM)
Looking for another way to connect with our town? Generally held every other Wednesday afternoon at 1PM and every second Saturday morning of the month at 9AM, Borough Hall is open for drop in discussions with Mayor Kennedy and Borough Administrator Doug Walker. No appointments necessary. Any changes to the schedule will be posted to the Borough website.
Please Note – May 15th Borough Council Meeting has been Canceled
The Borough council meeting originally scheduled for Thursday May 15th has been canceled, the next Borough Council meeting will be Thursday June 5th at 7M.
Save the Date – Water System Informational Meeting on Thursday May 29th at 7PM
Hopewell Borough will be hosting the first in a series of information meetings about the potential sale of our water system on Thursday May 29th, 2025 at 7PM. The meeting will be in person and online (via zoom) at Borough Hall. More information will be posted at www.hopewellboro-nj.us/Water.
Reminder to sign up for Office of Emergency Management Text Alerts
Hopewell Borough works with the Hopewell Valley Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to send out emergency phone and text notifications using Hopewell Township’s Everbridge System. We encourage all residents to also sign up for this service here. This service is separate from the Borough’s weekly email list and recommend signing up for both: one for emergencies and other for regular Borough communications. If you got texts this weekend about lightning in our area – you’ve signed up! If you didn’t, they now is the time!
