Residents: there’s an overnight storm predicted for tonight. Reminder that there is no parking on snow covered streets so please be sure to move cars before you go to be tonight! Thank you. Snow emergency parking is available at the Train Station and at Borough Hall for times when parking is prohibited on snow-covered roads. However, all vehicles must be removed from the lots within 12 hours after the storm. There is no overnight parking at the train station except during those emergency hours. Vehicles left for extended periods are subject to a summons under Borough code.
§ 7-3.7Parking Prohibited on Snow Covered Streets.
Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or roadway, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on any street or roadway or portion thereof. Such parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased and until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic or impede the passage of ambulance, fire or other emergency vehicles.
During this period of parking prohibition, vehicles may park in any municipal parking yard including those behind borough hall and at the railroad station.
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this subsection shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper clearing and removal of snow and regulation of traffic. Any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle.

§ 3-5.1Snow or Ice. Owners, occupants or tenants of any property fronting on any street in the borough shall remove all snow and ice from the abutting sidewalks of such street to the curb or pavement edge or, in the event of ice which may be so frozen as to make removal impracticable, shall cause the same to be thoroughly covered with sand, ashes or other material to provide traction, within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen or the ice has formed. Sidewalks shall be cleared to a width of three feet or the entire width of the sidewalk, whichever is less.No owner, occupant or tenant of any premises abutting on any street or sidewalk shall throw, place or deposit any snow or ice accumulated on private property into or upon any such street or sidewalk in the borough.
