Hopewell Borough, in partnership with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), is installing a traffic calming demonstration project on N. Greenwood Ave. between Washington Ave. and Hart Ave. this Spring.
This project includes a painted median, painted curb extensions, and vertical bollards to help slow vehicle speeds and improve safety for people walking and biking. The location was chosen for the temporary demonstration to allow the Borough to review and test the impact of entry gateway improvements on the only municipal road that approaches town, with an eye towards possibly implementing similar treatments on our major county road entrances in the future if successful.
An informational flyer about the project and the presentation shared at the April 3 Borough Council meeting can be downloaded below. Currently planned for implementation in May/June the Borough will be looking to collect information on the effect of the traffic calming project from residents. More information can be found at the traffic calming project webpage here.
