In an effort to provide a high-quality water service upon the transition of our water service provider to New Jersey American Water in summer 2026, NJAW will be conducting flow testing on April 28th in the following areas:

  • 42 Washington Avenue
  • 109 Grand View Avenue
  • 138 and 110 West Broad Street
  • 54 and 64 Lafayette Street
  • 16 and 26 E Prospect Street

Flow testing consists of carefully opening fire hydrants to gauge water flows and determine the capacity of the water mains throughout the system. When crews are working in your area, you may notice temporary reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. If discolored water occurs, please also refrain from doing laundry during that time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while New Jersey American Water undertakes this necessary project as part of the transition of the water system. New Jersey American Water looks forward to serving Hopewell Borough cusomyters this summer and will provide new customer information at the time of the transition.
