Thursday July 30, 2026 6:30PM: Please see below received by the Borough this evening from New Jersey American Water’s Contractor concerning discolored water today:
This morning within the construction area on West Broad street, we had a leak on an existing water line. Our inspector opened up one of the hydrants on West Broad St to relieve pressure on the water main so a repair could be made. This may have caused the discoloration some residents in the area may have experienced. The water is safe to drink, and any remaining discoloration or cloudiness can be remedied by running the cold water for a few moments until it clears up.
