The Hopewell Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of past EMU Chief Heather Varrasse. Chief Varrasse was the current EMU Squad Deputy Chief, EMU Line Secretary, and clerk for the Hopewell Borough Board of Fire Commissioners. Chief Varrasse was an active member of the Pennington First Aid Squad rising to the rank of Assistant Captain. Many know her voice as she was the daytime supervisor for Mercer County Central Communications. Heather was a very committed member of the Hopewell Fire Department, as a 16-year member she held firefighter one and EMT certifications. Heather will be truly missed, and our prayers go out to her and her family.

Monday December 12th, the family will have visitation from 10-12 at the New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Dr, Newtown PA. (just off S. State St from the Newtown bypass exit 8  Rt 295 PA-332/Newtown)

At 12 pm there will be a church service honoring Heather, which will take just under an hour.

At 1pm they will depart the church, and arrive at Wilson Apple Funeral Home, where they would like a Valley procession (any other County agencies welcome to participate) from the funeral home to pass Pennington First Aid Squad, then on to Hopewell Fire Department where there will be a “last call” drive-by. The family asked to have her carried from Wilson Apple to HFD on Old Number 1 followed by 151/152 Ambulances.
