Updated information Wednesday August 14: Mercer County has informed the Borough the East Broad Street paving project will now begin on Monday, August 19, 2024 @ 9:00AM.
Updated information Sunday August 11: Hopewell Borough has continued to work with Mercer County on the County’s upcoming program to resurface East Broad Street to ensure continued access for our businesses and residents while the work is completed. Importantly, Broad Street will remain OPEN throughout the project in the westbound direction allowing continued access to our businesses. Through traffic going eastbound will be detoured at Greenwood Avenue following the diagram below, and take Princeton Avenue, returning back to Route 518 via Province Line Road. Traffic seeking to access businesses on East Broad Street will be routed along East Prospect to Elm Street to join the westbound flow. The project is now anticipated to begin on Monday August 19 (and while this is the same time frame of another County project to replace a bridge on Princeton Avenue/Carter Road – note that no full closures are planned during that time as part of that project).
