The Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space (FoHVOS) will hold its first Community Conservation Conference to teach local residents how they can increase sustainability of their backyards in support of pollinators, birds, and other animals on April 18, 2026, just days before the 56th international Earth Day.
The conference keynote will be given by Dr. Doug Tallamy, author of Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conversation that Starts in Your Yard. A distinguished professor at the University of Delaware, and founder of Homegrown National Park, Dr. Tallamy has a keen interest in the ecological implications of non-native plants on biodiversity.
Timed to kick off Earth Week celebrations, the Conference will be held from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM in the auditorium of the Hopewell Valley Regional High School in Pennington on Saturday April 18.
