The first week of the month is always a busy one in Hopewell Borough. Below is an overview of what’s happening:
Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday December 2
Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup. As a reminder, our partners at the Mercer County Improvement Authority who handle our recycling pickup have announced that No.5 plastics can now been included in our curbside recycling! More information can be found here.
Mayor’s Office Hours – Wednesday December 3 (1PM)
Looking for another way to connect with our town? Generally held every other Wednesday afternoon at 1PM and every second Saturday morning of the month at 9AM, Borough Hall is open for drop in discussions with Mayor Kennedy. No appointments necessary. Any changes to the schedule will be posted to the Borough website.
December Planning Board Meeting – Canceled
The Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday December 3 has been canceled due to a lack of business to act on/applications for the month. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday January 6th at 7PM.
Borough Council Meeting – Thursday December 4 (7PM)
The December Borough Council meeting will be Thursday December 4 with the public portion of the meeting starting at 7PM (Council will begin at 6:30 with a closed/executive session). The meeting will be in person at Borough Hall with a zoom broadcast. Information on how to tune in (and comment) via zoom can be found here. As always, we look forward to getting input from you at the meeting, in person or via zoom. The agenda can be found below and pending ordinances can be found here.
The December 4th Council meeting will include a Public Hearing for Ordinance # 906 on the “Hopewell 57 Pilot Agreement.” The hearing will follow a presentation from the Borough’s financial advisor Bryan Morris of Phoenix Advisors and the Borough’s redevelopment attorney to review the basics of a PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) and answer questions on how they work, and the challenges associated with the Hopewell 57 site.
Saturday Mayors Office Hours/Coffee to be on December 13th
Looking for another way to connect with our town? Generally held every other Wednesday afternoon at 1PM and every second Saturday morning of the month at 9AM, Borough Hall is open for drop in discussions with Mayor Kennedy, no appointments needed.
