The first week of the month is always a busy one in Hopewell Borough. Below is an overview of what’s happening:
Election day – Tuesday November 4
Tuesday is election day! Polls are open from 6AM to 8PM at Borough Hall for all registered voters in Hopewell Borough. More information can be found on the Mercer County elections webpage, including locations for drop off boxes for vote by mail ballots.
Trash and Recycling Pickup – Tuesday November 4
Tuesday is the regular trash and recycling pickup in the Borough. Please remember that trash containers should be covered and watertight to prevent mixing of rain/stormwater and placed at the curb between 3PM on Monday and 7AM Tuesday for pickup. As a reminder, our partners at the Mercer County Improvement Authority who handle our recycling pickup have announced that No.5 plastics can now been included in our curbside recycling! More information can be found here.
November Planning Board Meeting – Canceled
The Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday November 5 has been canceled due to a lack of business to act on/applications for the month. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday December 3rd at 7PM.
Borough Council Meeting – Thursday November 6 (7PM)
The November Borough Council meeting will be Thursday November 6 at 7PM. The meeting will be in person at Borough Hall with a zoom broadcast. Information on how to tune in (and comment) via zoom can be found here. As always, we look forward to getting input from you at the meeting, in person or via zoom. Saturday Mayors Office Hours/Coffee to be on November 15th
Looking for another way to connect with our town? Generally held every other Wednesday afternoon at 1PM and every second Saturday morning of the month at 9AM, Borough Hall is open for drop in discussions with Mayor Kennedy, no appointments needed. This month the Saturday coffee will be on the 3rd Saturday, November 15 at 9AM.
Reminder: After Hours Public Works Emergencies Should be Reported to HTPD
If you encounter an emergency situation involving our water or sewer systems or other issues that involve our public works department, please report the issue to the Hopewell Township Police Department dispatch at 609.737.3100. HTPD has direct contact information for our department of public words team, depending on the type of issue.
Reminder: Information on Water System Sale Available
In anticipation of the November 4, 2025 referendum, a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document has been posted on the Borough’s dedicated water web page with answers to many common questions received by the Borough on the proposed sale to New Jersey American Water (“NJAW”). There you will also find links to video recordings of the Town Hall meetings held over the last two years on the potential sale, copies of the slides presented, the proposed contract with NJAW along with a summary of the major terms and other information as our community prepares to decide whether to sell the water system.
