Following the latest quarterly testing results from July, a community update letter is being distributed to explain that, for the 5th quarter in a row and now more than 1 full year, our Borough’s water system has continued to meet all State and Federal Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) standards, including for the recently regulated contaminant Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS). As noted in the letter, even with the compliant results, Borough staff, volunteers and consultants continue to closely monitor and report to DEP the levels of PFOS (and other possible contaminants) in our water and evaluate long-term options for treatment should contaminants be found above the MCL standards. We also continue to work with our financial and technical advisors to develop scenarios involving the possible sale, lease or continued operation of our water system, so that our community can make an informed decision about the future of our water system that best serves health and financial needs of Hopewell Borough.
Please download and read the update letter below, which is also being mailed to Borough water customers.
