PFOS LEVELS IN OUR WATER

Hopewell Borough Water System Meets the Standard for Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS) 

All quarterly PFOS monitoring results since July of 2022 have been under the PFOS Maximum Contaminant Standard (MCL). Our water system currently meets all State and Federal drinking water standards.

On July 7, 2022, the Hopewell Borough Water Department received a “Notice of Non-Compliance” from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) due to an exceedance of the drinking water standard for Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS) in our water system. The notices and updates below are to inform you, as our customer, of what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation.
