Our area health department’s website is being regularly updated with resources and information on the Corona Virus, and and health related announcements.

A hyperlocal COVID-19 call line has also been established, for Hopewell Borough (along with Montgomery Township, and the Boroughs Pennington and Rocky Hill), staffed M-F, 8:30-4:30. The phone number is 908-533-9319.

Brush Pickup and Playground Closings

Brush Pickup Temporarily Suspended, Playgrounds Temporarily Closed

Effective immediately, all non-essential public works tasks are suspended. Crews will respond to emergencies and public safety issues but WILL NOT be collecting brush, etc. Please do not put brush at curbside. Trash/recycling schedules are unchanged. Following guidance from the State of NJ and our health officials, all Borough playgrounds and play equipment will be closed until further notice. Please abide by the signs posted at the Hopewell park playground, and the playgrounds/basketball court at the railroad station. Parks remain open for walking, hiking, jogging and other passive uses.

Update 4/30/20 The Planning Board meeting scheduled for May 6, 2020 has been CANCELLED. The next regularly schedule meeting is June 3, 2020.

Update 4/28/20 In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and as authorized by Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 130 released today, the Borough will extend the grace period for the 2nd Quarter taxes due on May 1st through June 1, 2020. Payments received after June 1 will accrue interest retroactive to May 1st.

Update 4/10/20 The Hopewell Borough Council of Churches has organized a town-wide church bell ringing for 10:00am Sunday, April 12. The Hopewell Fire Department will use its siren at 9:55am to announce the start of the event. Update 4/6/20 The Borough Economic Development Committee will conduct an electronic meeting on Wednesday April 8 at 8:30am. Information on how to to view the meeting using the zoom video platform is available here.

Update 11:00AM 3/27/20 The April Planning Board meeting has been canceled.  The 4/2 Borough Council meeting will be conducted electronically. Information on how to view the meeting and public participation is available here, using the “zoom” video platform.
